Turf/OS™ Privacy Policy

Overview

Turf/OS™ is a local-first lawn planning app. Most app data remains on your device, and the app only contacts third-party services when needed to fetch map, weather, or hardiness-zone results.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Property names, zone maps, and grass settings
• Treatment logs, task progress, and reminders
• Product inventory and custom product details
• Zone photos and soil-test attachments
• App preferences and notification settings

Third-Party Services

When you use weather, mapping, or hardiness-zone features, the app may send foreground location coordinates to services such as Open-Meteo, weather.gov, the USDA plant hardiness service, and platform map providers needed to return those results.

Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect non-personally identifiable information strictly for the functional operation of the app or via standard Apple/Google app analytics (if you have opted into sharing crash reports with developers via your device settings):

• Log Data: Crash reports, performance data, and generic usage statistics to help us improve the app and fix bugs.

How We Use Information

Because we do not collect your personal lawn data, we do not use it. The on-device data is used strictly by the app on your device to:

• Display your properties, zones, and treatment schedules to you.
• Allow you to manage and interact with your inventory, logs, and yard data.

Any generic crash logs or performance data provided by the App Store or Google Play Store are used solely to improve the stability and performance of the Turf/OS™ app.

How We Share Your Information

We do not collect your data, so we cannot and do not share, sell, or disclose it to third parties.

• There are no third-party analytics trackers, advertising networks, or data brokers integrated into the app that collect your lawn data.
• Your data remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it using your device's built-in sharing capabilities.

Permissions

Turf/OS™ may request location while using the app, camera, photo library, and notifications. These permissions are requested only for the feature you choose to use.

Data Security & Backups

The security of your data is governed by the security of your own device. We recommend using device-level security features like a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to restrict access to your device.

• You are entirely responsible for backing up your data. If you lose your device or uninstall the app without a full device backup (e.g., to iCloud or Google Drive), your data will be permanently lost. We do not maintain any backups of your data.

Your Choices and Rights

Since we do not hold your data on any servers, you have complete control over your information directly within the app:

• You can access, edit, or delete any of your data at any time directly on your device.
• You can delete all your data by deleting the Turf/OS™ app from your device.

Children's Privacy

Because the app operates completely offline and does not transmit data, it is safe for users of all ages. However, we do not knowingly solicit or collect any data from children under the age of 13, because we do not collect data from any users.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
